Hi, I have been a member of this wonderful forum for about 6 1/2 years
I have found it invaluable in helping me to develop our handyperson service contacts and appointment planning database. I have no formal programming experience and everything that I know about access, I learnt on this forum.

I paid £25 for a basic opensource, tanning salon appointment planner. and with the information and ideas that I found on here I have been able to supply a working solution to every new request and challenge that has been thrown at me over the years.

The system that all the forum members indirectly helped me to build, meant that my organisation was able to complete 99.7% off all our jobs on time. We were the envy of other departments who were stuck using FEMIS.

However; My organisation is migrating to a cloud based, company wide system and my database is being mothballed and my services as database guru are no longer required.

So I would just like to thank you all for allowing me to lurk around on your forums and message boards, I hardly ever needed to post a question as I always found answers and sample code etc. for everything I needed.

Thanks

Hello handyman1.. It is so great to see the post you made.. :)

It shows how useful and successful the Forum has been.. Helping us all out..

I wish you the very best and good luck in all that you plan to do from now on.. :) God bless..

PS: It does not have to be a goodbye you know.. You always can enlighten us with the knowledge you have obtained in your journey as "Database Guru".. ;)

Not to mention that cloud-based computing might turn out to be a bust. The funny thing about the cloud is that stuff doesn't go away forever. Sometimes the cloud evaporates because of other issues and you find yourself in demand again because of some issue or another related to cloud misfortunes.

Not counting the very possible distribution of valuable company database info when the cloud goes bonkers. Good luck!

Have a nice day :)
