I'm abroad again and for some reason my phone never defaulted to the local time zone.

I actually approve of this, I think it can get very confusing if it does it automatically.

Searching help I noticed this "covid" message from Google:-

>>>As a precautionary health measure for our support specialists in light of COVID-19, we're operating with a limited team. Thanks for your patience, as it may take longer than usual to connect with us. For additional support, consult the Help Center<<<

Google are notorious for not Connecting with customers, hence my sarcastic laugh!

of course they are! but then again, they DO know how to connect with ONE thing in this life. their algorithms.

You probably aren't even seeing this, considering that you have ignored me, but I'm not sure if I have posted this here yet or not, but I thought this was pretty damn funny too. Apparently google's email client isn't as smart as they claim it to be....

I just found it. yes, I did post it:

Yeah I agree @Uncle Gizmo ........... " longer than usual " ?!? What does that even mean? I've never been able to connect with Google in my life.

And I've had plenty of times of trying--like one time a few years ago when I got locked out after a 2-factor authentication debacle and waited 2 weeks for their "review process" until I gave up.

Get ready for this, surcharges on everything. Not to mention all the other taxes.

OMG! it's not photoshopped is it? Is Chicago allowing that? I know gas charges, in the same categories as "weights and measures" is a pretty rigidly restricted thing, so it must have Lightfoot's blessing somehow? I visited Chicago a few weeks ago but was too lazy to even look at my gas receipt on the rental. I certainly did notice Lyft rates were 50% higher than I'd expect...if not more. For those many times when even walking to back where I'd parked just seemed too much to bear, which was always.

Free market, right? They can charge for what they want just as you can choose to not eat there.

Sounds like another feedback-sourced specialized mobile app niche! "Find gas stations without extra charges".

Wow! In New Orleans, we reached a 9.25% tax rate because Orleans Parish sales tax took a bump last year. But you are at over 10% and I can tell you that if you tried that in New Orleans, people would go out into the surrounding parishes for restaurants. Favorites or non-favorites, that kind of surcharge would put a restaurant out of business in a heartbeat.
