Hi,

I wonder if anyone here might be able to help me out here. I've been pondering this issue for so long and i was almost giving up.

I've been getting this warning everytime i open up an Access file (.MDB) especially, when trying to open up a file that's sitting on another computers. i have a few computers and they are set up in a peer to peer environment.

I took a printscreen of the warning message and attached it to this post. Please take a look at it. It's called "access.jpg"

Is there any way of turning it off? is it to do with the peer to peer networking?

Thank you in advance

You see this message because the macro security level in Access is set to High and the file that you are trying to open is not digitally signed.

If you or a member of your workgroup created this database, you should consider obtaining a certificate and digitally signing the database. You and members of your workgroup should also add your digital signatures to the list of trusted publishers on your computers.

If you receive a database from a third party, you should ask them to sign the database by using a commercial certificate before sending the file to you.

Hi TanisAgain,

Thank you for your reply.

All right, i'm going to do it as instructed by the link you pointed out. Most of the databases we have there are created internally which means by us. So you can assume they are all pretty trusted people. :)

Now, one more question is that assume that i made a database and did all the certificate and all that's sort of things i needed to do to avoid getting any security warning. If i want to put it onto another computer that is regarded as a server because it's where all our files reside there. would other people be getting any warnings if they try to open it via the server computer?
Is that signing certificate settings actually embedded on the database itself?

Thank you in advance
