I have a report that is filtered by selections that a user makes in combo boxes on a form. The report works and everything is dandy. However....

This report shows a breakdown by location of individuals that were written up and the action that was taken in response to the policy violation. I want to include a graphical representation of the info in the report at the beginning. I want to put a pie chart at the beginning of the report that will display the breakdown(%, if you will) of the different actions taken for the filtered records in the report.

Since the report is based on a query, does the pie chart need to be based n that same query or how do I accomplish this. So far, all I have been able to accomplish is a blank box that is supposed to hold a graph.

Please help!!

Thanks in advance!

Just a tip with charts in Access.

First get all the data you want to chart in one query without any extra bits and pieces.

Create a report purely for the chart

Then put the Chart report in the main report as a sub report without making any master child references
