For others who may run into this problem, I thought I'd share this info to hopefully save you the 30-45 minutes it took me to figure it out :-)

The short story is that I have a database with a form that opens in continuous forms view. I originally built the form in Access 2007. Then started developing in Access 2010. My users are using Access 2007, so I wanted to test the entire database in 2007 before sending it to them. Upon opening this form, the gridlines would not show up. After adjusting every setting I could think of (and find), I realized that the object in my form were NOT set to a tabular layout as they originally were. As a result, the gridlines did not show up. I then selected all of these objects, and set their arrangement to tabular again. The gridlines immediatly returned.

So if you think your gridlines are invisible, missing, disappear, lost, etc after going from Access 2007 to 2010, try checking the actual layout of the objects to check whether they are set in tabular mode. If not, set it to be tabular.

This is kind of annoying. When I originally built the form in Access 2007, the arrangement for my objects was set to tabular. When I opened the database in 2010, the tabular arrangement stayed. However, when opening it back in 2007, the tabular arrangement is gone.

Seems to me that this is a bug, or something that Microsoft needs to add to the list at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/cc907897.aspx (although I don't know of any new feature being used from 2010 in this form. Honestly, I'm not even sure that I've modified it at all in 2010 other than possibly resizing some of the field widths).

Also, I would expect that this situation would be the same, regardless of the form view (single form or continuous forms view).

I'm thinking the moral of the story here is to do the development in the same version of Access that the end-users will be using (if possible). I'm assuming this is probably a best practice anyway. :D

I googled & searched far and wide, and from what I can tell, this will be the first forum posting dealing specifically with the issue I discovered today.

Chow!

I have exactly the same issue. So far, I haven't found a solution or hotfix.

I don't know that I would call it a fix. But I posted my work-around in my initial post in this thread.
