I always use datasheet view but I have to test again to which reports i cant add gridlines and yes again I always use can grow and can shrinkI'm going to guess that you are sometimes using datasheet view, other times not. Gridlines are associated with datasheet view. You CAN make your own gridlines in report view or print preview but it is tedious to do it manually, and if there is a "can grow" or "can shrink" option set to YES in any section, then it gets even more complicated to "roll your own" gridlines.
Look at the reports where you CAN see gridlines to check for use of datasheet view in the properties of that section.
I can add borders but gridlines are sometimes dimmed. I wonder can it be only with older versions of access when i work on 2007?I'm not sure what you mean by "gridlines" on reports. You can add lines and borders. There are also grid "Dots" in design view. What do you mean by not being able to use gridlines. Maybe it's Doc's WAG.
You know what would help me understand the problem? Attach a couple of screenshots showing your reports in Print Preview and Report View so we can see these gridlines (or the lack of them).I can add borders but gridlines are sometimes dimmed. here is one example where there are borders and gridlinesYou know what would help me understand the problem? Attach a couple of screenshots showing your reports in Print Preview and Report View so we can see these gridlines (or the lack of them).
Thank you. The three label controls at the top have borders around them. That's controlled in the property sheet in design view.here is one example where there are borders and gridlines View attachment 122083View attachment 122083
I know that. i am talking about horizontal lines can be vertical too but are not always available at the end maybe it is corrupted version of accessOn controls you can make the borders transparent or visible. They can have different colors, thickness, etc
I am not sure of the horizontal line, but you can put a line control below your textboxes creating a repeating horizontal line.
horizontal lines are made with thisThank you. The three label controls at the top have borders around them. That's controlled in the property sheet in design view.

It would appear the lines between records in the detail section are horizontal lines at the bottom of the detail section.
