Group By query

I am doing a "group-by" query. There is one field - a date field - which I want to appear in my query because it's tied to parameter conditions.
But I don't want it as a group-by field because it gives me duplicate records as the dates are all different . However, I get an error message if I don't put group-by in the total box for the date. How do I go about it?

Try changing Group By to Where.
