How hard would it be to make your page go all the way across the screen no matter what resolution you are using?

Yep as J said, set the width of your main frame to 100%, though I prefer not to do this as images and such like will not remain in proportion to the readjusted dimensions of your table, iframe or whatever you are using.

I wish I could help you with your database; unfortunately I can't code for crap. The most sophisticated thing I've done is an automatic email generator, and that was with loads of help from the forums.

My thoughts exactly.
I will be using Flash to generate text bullets and to navigate to Demos, which will be Flash movies that show moving screen shots of the Subcontractor Database.

That sounds fine. The important point is not to have your entire site, especially the front page, in flash. If there are special feature areas that use it, that's fine. You should also have non-flash screenshot areas as options.
