Hello:
I am dealing with a synchronization error that I have never received before and was just wondering if others would let me know if my thoughts were right on the money or totally wrong.
I will try to explain why I am synchronizing. I work for 8 field engineers who keep all of their information about their projects in a database. The field engineers load the data to a website and I download it, synchronize it, and upload the synchronized data.
Anyway I download the data from the website and place it into my desktop not on the server. I downloaded the data last week with the operating system of Windows 98 and tried to synchronize with XP because the techs upgraded my system this week. I then copy the data that I receive from the website to //Asta_server/Network/Input. I tried to synchronize their data by clicking on the system and selecting the synchronization selection that is under replication and received the following error:
Synchronizationbetween replica: //Asta_server/Network/Input/Ark3data727.mdb and replica //Asta_server/Network/Designmaster3/Ark3data.mdb failed.
The history of design changes in the replica does not match the history in the design master.
When I saw this, I thought that it might be XP so I went to a computer that had Windows 98 but received the exact same error. The server was changed to Microsoft 2000 from NT4, so I thought that might be the error so I had the network administrator move the files to our second server that had NT4, but I received the same error.
I then went back and just tryed to synchronize the data on my desktop, but received a similar error. It was the same except the paths were changed. I went back to my data in January and had no problem synchronizing but that was no the correct month. I had one field engineers data to successfully synchronize, the field engineer has Windows XP Professional operating system.
If anyone can help me that would be great, if you need to ask me a question - reply. I suppose that if I don't get help soon I will just do it manually.
