Halt code until Shelled program ends (1 Viewer)

I am converting ACC2.0 to '97. In old database I used 'GetModuleUsage' (Kernel lib) to halt code execution until a program called with Shell finishes. Access97 (Kernel32 lib) does not support 'GetModuleUsage". Any ideas how to halt code until shelled program ends? Thanks.
