Has anyone heard of the programming language TCL? My manager has just asked me to learn this language and I can't find anyone who knows anything about it. I tried looking at text books online, but every one I look at has about a 50/50 customer rating (and the half that don't like it say that it is inaccurate in it's teaching). I've had several people tell me to just get those books, but I don't want to learn something that isn't correct. Do you have any recommendations?

Important starting point. Which language are you talking about?

1. Tcl (Tool Control language), a cross platform scripting language.
or
2. TCL (Terminal Control Language), the PICK-like language used with Universe?

I expect the half of reviewers that said the books were inaccurate were looking for the wrong information.

I didn't realize there was more than one TCL language. The TCL that I need is the Tool Control Language. Is there a resource you would recommend for this language?

Sorry, I work a little with TCL but have not worked with Tcl at all.

it was used in one of our legacy unicode driven systems, it was provided by iSoft and was an off the shelf package so no little or no modifications were ever allowed really. It was a one out one in type affair if you get my meaning!
