Some years ago, I had an inadvertant doppelganger. (I mean that I don't think he was aware of me or consciously trying to emulate me.) He and I would shop the same stores in the nearby malls. The clerks would react strangely sometimes. My wife actually met the guy in church, though I never did. She tells me that from a distance, we looked very much alike though our speech patterns were not the same. Also, she said that when she got closer she could tell the difference. But I don't think he tried to steal my identity. Still, it was creep to know that I had a doppelganger out there. In the last several years we have not heard about him and he no longer attends that church.
