My name is John, I am a self taught MS Access (2007)/data base enthusiast. Like many novice I have come to this position out of necessity. In am a computer network engineer by trade however in my current position as a Facility Security Officer (and for the record, I am not a security guard), I have found a real need to acquire these new skill sets.
After creating several MS Access 2007 data bases through much trial and error, I have found I have a “knack” for it and I feel I am pretty good at it or at least as good as a novice can be. I find I enjoy working with MS Access and data bases in general. I do want to thank everyone here, as I have put this site/forum to very good use.
My intent for the near future is to keep learning the ins & outs of MS Access and obtain a good working knowledge of VB and SQL. And eventually obtain my MS certification (I have obtained my MCSE from many years ago) and at some point a side business developing MS Access and other data base solutions, ultimately leading to a major carrier change.
To that end, you will see me frequent these forums more and more as I start down this road. I must apologize in advance for all the silly, obvious and downright knuckle headed questions I may ask in the future. And at some point I may even contribute some “correct” advice to someone in my position today.
Thanks
