My name is Tommy Armstrong and I have been programming Access for many years going back to version 2.0, but mostly for job related applications. My fulltime job #1 now is running a Wastewater Plant. I used to run a Water Treatment plant but decided to go over to "the dark side". Also much more interesting. So I am one of those environmental "actionists" (as opposed to an environmental "activist"). I am very excited about Access Services ability to create hybrid apps, and all the new ways to deploy remotely as my program and my guru knowledge of all things crap could really help out a lot of small wastewater plants in their day to day operation. With a simple relatively inexpensive Office 365 account with Office Professional, there is really no reason why the thousands of ww plants could not afford a robust process and compliance control program customized to their particular plants. So I have decided to take time to see if can get everything modernized. That is why decided to join this forum. It is my contention that one can make a very touch friendly Access Desktop application that can still be really useful and I am trying to do so.
My fulltime job #2 is my major "claim to fame" as I came up with the idea of personalizing LEGO(tm) bricks with engraving and now printing. As such I have a very interesting clientele, mostly Adults who still like to play with the "noble brick", software companies looking for unique business cards and promos which include all those names you probably know as well as many you do not (MS, Apple, Google, Facebook etc.) and kids who are using LEGO to create amazing robots.
