Help a NOOB -open folder with same name as a field but with extra characters on end.

Hiya guys,

Im sorry if this is already been asked / answered, I have tried searching through the forum to find help, tried some solutions but im still getting errors (mainly because I dont understand Code very much)

Basically..

I have a form called projectsheet, on that form I have a field called projectid. What I would like is a button on the form to open a folder on our server say K:\projects\ with windows explorer, the folders on our server has the same name as the projectid but with extra wildcard characters on end.

For example. My Projectsheet form has field projectid with RBL 03CC, I would like to open folder K:\projects\RBL 03CC - 3rd floor corridor

What code do i need to use on the button.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't like your folder naming conventions, but hey, anyway what I would suggest is to have an extra field in your table of projects that holds the full folder name where to navigate to and use this as your reference point.

The folder name suites the way my company works and our type of work. Which I havent explained in my post.... I thought that this would bore people and is irrelevant to my post...

I have thought about creating a another field, but wont this mean I have to enter the folder location and unique folder name for each job?? Your rite it would solve the problem, but not ideal.
