Hi all,
Is there anybody out there that has created a help file for their access db?
im debating on creating one for my users, but do not know where to start to create a helpful, meaningful file.
is there a template or something that i could follow? or can someone show me an example of a decent one that thye have created? thanks!

I did one that linked to a set of HTML Documents. A hyperlink on a Help Button in the Database opened a folder with an index.html document and subfolders where html docs were stored related to troubleshooting and definitions, etc.

Just one of many suggestions that may work for you,

Goh

Thanks Goh!
Never thought about using an html file, thought it had to be done in notepad or something. Ill keep that in mind.

Ive never written a help file before and, being the designer of the db, i really dont know what the user would be looking for in a help file, that is why i am looking for a template or something. i understand that each would be unique to that db, but a point in the right direction to see what others have done will do wonders im sure!

what I did was a help table and a button called help
combo box to find
etc
I actual go clever on this as I did this for a product and each product has its own help features so a filter was applied and you could ask for help on the producted selected

Nice idea, i like that!
i dont need anything too fancy, Think i may just do like an instruction manual or something along those lines. not too sure though.
