Ok, so here is the situation. I have designed a new access database for the lawfirm where I work. Lawfirms have more information in their files than any hospital, insurance company, etc because they need it ALL. Among other fields, one that I was instructed was needed was a Factual Summary Field, where for instance, an entire witness statement could be typed. I have used the memo feature to create such a massive field (some witnesses are VERY long winded) I then created this super large field on my form and everything appeared to work. The problem is this: Everything starts out ok, and you type and type, but soon you approach the bottom of the screen and you would expect to automaicly scroll down like in Word, but you dont. You can still type in the box, you just cannot see what you are typing, and this just wont do. I cannot make the Summary field have scroll bars thus fitting it on the screen, because I need to be able to print the form when one of the lawyers goes into court so they have a quick reference guide to the case, rather than having to sort through a very large file. Please offer ANY suggestions you may have, and if you know of a better way to do this please help. Just keep in mind that I am not the only one who will be utilizing this database, there are many employees who may not and will never understand a complex solution. But if the only solution is complex, please offer that too. Thank you so much, lawmls

Can't you create a report for them to print? On the report, you can make the text field grow (by setting the CanGrow property for that field on the report to yes) to whatever length. Then you could put scroll bars on the screen and have the best of both worlds (it seems like you need to have all in that text box printed when they print, but just don't want to take up more screen space) Try out the report wizard.
