Hello Friends,

Happy to see you again,

I have a report that should display the following
Job - Nationality – Number

The data is selected by check box

For example :

Name - Job - Nationality

1- Joe - Engineer - American
2- Peter – Engineer – French
3- Daniel – Engineer – British
4- Sally – Engineer – British
5- Robert – Head Manager – British
6- Charles – Financial Manager – British
7- George – Project Manager – British

So the report should display :

Job - Nationality – Number
Engineer – American – 1
Engineer – French – 1
Engineer – British – 2
Head Manager – British – 1
Financial Manager – British - 1
Project Manager – British – 1

Any idea to build the report by this way ???, how can I build a query to execute that ???

Thank you in advance

Thank you for reply

Are you sure that link will solve the case ???

OK friends ... it's initially solved by "Crosstab Query"

This type of sql should produce your desired results:
Code:
SELECT Job, Nationality, Count(*) As CountOfNationality
FROM [NameOfTable]
GROUP BY Job, Nationality
ORDER BY Job, Nationality;
You don't need a crosstab query.

Hello again my friend

Thanks a lot for your interest

But please more declaration ,,, where have I put this Sql Statement ??

Hello,

If you open a new query in design view, right click it and select SQL VIEW. Copy and paste it in there. But you must change then names of the fields and table accordingly.

Full Perfect ,

It's working better than CrossTab

Nothing exist in life to express my greetings towards you
Thank you

There was some information about how to do something like this in the link John gave you. You should have tried to digest it. ;)

But glad we could help anyway history.

Thank you

but what I found in that link : sum numbers not text
may be I couldn't understand well, that's my fault
any way I'm so weak in understanding queries !!! shameful
if you have any link or material about queries I'll be so appreciated
I've learned MS Access by getting help, reading and self efforts ,, that's why I couldn't understand well

Thank you

The greatest skill you can develop is the ability to look at an example and then adapt it to various situations. Just because an example that is presented does not perfectly replicate your current situation does not mean that it has no value, the value you extract from it is in your own mind and your ability to think outside the box, and take your knowledge to the next level.

Thank you for your advice, great appreciates
