HELP!!!! Is this common or am I the only one!

I have two forms that are basically the same. One is for adding new records and the other one is for editing. The difference in the edit one is the combo box that does search for them and displays data that is already there for them to Edit.
From my Add form you can get in to the Edit form by clicking a button. The problem is that each of the forms function perfectly by themselves, but when both of the forms are open, my Combo box that does the search doesn’t work properly. It gets stuck on the one that was called by in the privous form. Or my refresh button doesn’t refresh either. Unless, I close both of the forms and reopen them individually. Is this a common problem or am I the only one! This problem specially is annoying over the network when two people have two forms open the same problem arises, and I have to make sure who has it open and tell them to close it in order for everything to work. Please help, I have been struggling with this for over a month and can’t figure it out. Thank you in advance.

Why do you need both forms open at the same time if they're displaying the same information? Couldn't you just use one form, and if it had to be separated, use a button or some macro/module for distinguishing records to add or records to edit? Or you could just have it go to a new record for adding, or open the whole form for editing?
