Hey everyone,

I am looking to do a few "complex" things. Please remember that complex is relative right? Anyways, I'll give you the background.

I have an online store that uses OScommerce. It is ran by digiadmin. My thought is that I would like to keep shipping addresses and billing info on file. This comes from many requests by repeat customers.

So my thought, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I would like to import specific fields from a single webpage. This would require going through two login screens, and nevigating to the correct page to get each person's info. Would I do this with a macro? If not, what would I want to use? If so, how can I learn how to do so. I do not want spoon-feed-do-this-for-me-please info. I would really like to learn.

After that, I would like to set all addresses to print at one time in a certin format so I can use peel and stick paper. How can I do this?

If you have a smaller basic sample that I can learn off, that would be cool. If you can point me to useful websites, I would love that too! Any information so I can start learning these things would be kick butt!

Thank you for your time

What you're asking for is not "simple" information that can be conveyed in a reply. There are a lot of ways to do what you're asking, but they require fairly in-depth knowledge of how Access works (and how Word programming works for those labels).

I would think there are (commercial) programs available that already do pretty much what you want. While it's not terribly complex for Access programmers with a good degree of expertise, the answer is a development solution that requires a lot more knowledge of your business (what about people with multiple shipping/billing addresses, one order that goes to multiple addresses, etc.).

I'm sure there are people here (myself included) that could do it, but that's not a freebee, as it were. I have no idea what your level of expertise is, so I'm not sure where to tell you to even start. You said you don't want anyone to spoon-feed here, and it won't happen. You're asking for a full-blown application, not a "help me with this syntax" or "what's the command for" type of issue.

I'm not offering my services -- I'm happily employed, thanks -- and I would think that those that answer the majority of the questions here are in the same boat. (You know who you are. :P)

I'm in no way trying to be rude, but you're essentially asking for an order tracking application that automatically remembers users based on a ID (a website based ID, no less), and then looks up shipping information, can possibly contain multiple shipping/billing addresses, and have other things I am not thinking of involved. Then you want shipping labels (and perhaps billing labels if you take COD orders) printed. That, again, is an application, not a quick "help me over the hump" situation.

Perhaps DigiAdmin has a method for providing you this information? Even if it's a CSV file they provide once a week (or whatever), that's data maintained by someone you are already paying. I'm just trying to think of a way for you to do this without outside contracting, but if you're not confident in your Access skills, your choices will boil down to crash-coursing yourself in Access (expect a minimum 6-12 months to get the basics and a little advanced skill -- I've been doing Access for 12 years and programming in general for over 20 years) or paying an outside source/purchasing an existing program to do it for you.

Again, I'm not trying to be arrogant or "holier-than-thou", but the reality is you can't trade in a Kia for a Mercedes.
