I need to come up with a way to display a bunch of data so that it's easily understandable... I think the best way to display what I want to is to use a 'Bar of Pie' chart in Excel. I just can't seem to get things to work ... Everytime I try to edit or add series information things just don't work out like I am expecting them to.
I've tried to search online for some good setup examples, but nothing seems to make sense to me..
For Example, here is an example of data that I have:
Serviced Parts: 118
Condemned Parts: 38
Contracted Parts: 45
Contracted Met: 41
Contracted Repaired: 67
Now these values are coming from different areas in a huge spreadsheet, but I don't see where that should matter... The data for the graph will be in those same cells each month, so the chart will update on its own.
What I have envisioned is a main Pie chart that consists of Serviced Parts and Condemned Parts. The Serviced Parts would be broken down into two sections - contracted and non contracted. So, in this example the main pie chart would be approx 25% red, and 75% green; but the green area broken down into two sections approx 60/40 (Contracted/Non Contracted).
Then, out of the contracted section of the main Pie chart it would display to the right side the bar chart showing 41 as 90% of the full bar of 45.
I hope that makes sense...
It dang confusing to try and explain it. LoL
