Access is supose to allow a number of individuals to input infomation at the same time. Our data base doesn't allow us to do this and we require about 4 individuals to do so. Is it possible to have multple users or is it just a pipe dream??? Also, we want to be able to access several tables from a single for with multiple tabs, like the examples on this website. Do I need to impliment another program, such as Visual Basic, or will Access cut it???

If you are running that application from a network, make sure the directory that the application resides in has Create/ Delete rights for your users.

When access opens, it creates an .ldb file to store record locking type information. If the user does not have these rights, the .ldb file will not be created. The result is, if a second user tries to open the database, they get a message to the effect of: "Cannot open, locked by another user" or "Opened exclusively by another user".

Access will allow you to put several forms on different tabs of a tab control. You can do it by adding a subform control to each page of the tab control and setting the subform control's source object to any form that you desire. There are two properties to link the subform to the main form: Link Master Fields and Link Child Fields. Look up these items in On-line help for more information.
