Hello,

I am new to access and working my way through it is at times quite challenging. I have read multiple threads that talk about combining forms, but and I could be wrong here, I have yet to find a thread that proved to be of help. But that could also be because of my inexperience with the software.

I have attached a file that I am working on and in it are two tables and two forms. I am trying to combine the two forms so that they can be used in the same window.

I first tried to copy the fields from 1 form to another so I have both visible. I changed all the sources so it refers to right table, but it wont work. I then moved one of the forms in the other, but the same problem appears. Separately, they work fine, but as soon as I combine the two, all bets are off.

Can someone explain to me (someone with very little experience) as to why it wont do what I want it to do?

I can't download files at work, so I'm going to guess a bit, but it sounds like you're trying to display two data sets, one of which depends on the other? (An example would be an invoice - you would have one that shows the invoice and everything germane to the invoice as a whole, and another that listed the invoice line items and everything that pertains to each item.)

In forms, that's handled by subforms, which you can read about HERE.

If we're on the wrong track here, just let us know.

Edit: Aaaand that is why you don't wait thirty minutes between starting a reply and pressing 'post'.

Thanks for the reply Frothingslosh. I will give it a go and see if I can resolve the problem using the link you provided.

And apologies for posting it in the wrong thread...

EDIT: It works. thanks!

Huh? You made your thread in the right forum for your question....

And np, that's why we're here.

O_o

He said the same thing I did - I just elaborated more.

Anyway, the important thing is you got your issue fixed.
