I have been trying to get the security set up on my database and having been playing about seem to have set something. I now get a box asking for username and password.

I have not set any password and now cannot get access. Is there any way i can get in now or have I locked myself out of my entire system?

Suspect that when security was set on a database the System.mdw file was used. This you never do.

Alternatively
You have opened a secured database and joined the appropriate workgroup. When closeing you have not rejoined the default group

If you are feeling good find and start wrkgadm.exe and join the system workgroup.

If you still have the problem then the system.mdw has been used for setting security and basically you need to
a) Create an unsecured version of the secured database
b) replace the system.mdw with a clean copy
c) reset the security properly

tweaking the shortcut that fires the secured version so that you join and exit the appropriate workgroup will need to be done whatever the situation. Send me a PM with a valid email address and I have some documents that I can send that should help

double click on wrkgadm.exe
join
browse
c:\program files\microsoft office\office\system

click on system
click on open

That should solve the problem
