i've got a macro that does this:

When I deselect a tick box another box with the date appears and I enter the date.
When I select the tick box and then select it again so there is no tick there the date has disappeared.

What I want to happen is for the date to still be there when I take the tick away. Any help gratefully received?

This is trivial with code, but I'm not quite sure how to do it in a macro. Never tried; the problem is that you need a condition to say "If the date field is already filled, don't do anything except uncheck the box."

I can walk you through it if you like, the code is very short and painless.

David, thanks very much for your willingness. I think I can get by on the code (thanks to help from this board). Unfortunately, I'm working on someone elses database and it relies on macros. I'll have another look.
