I am getting this error and need immediate help...please!

Looks like a record lock to me. For some reason you are in contention with someone else for a resource on the system.

Yes, thanks but I am aware of that. I really would like to know what types of underlying issues create this though.. in this case I have an access DB being connected to via ODBC using a VB6 application. The VB app gives me the error. The Access DB opens but is not fully functional (some queries are corrupted).
