Ok here goes I just done a query to give me all the duplicates in my table... like I have four #3's... so now what I need is to do a another query from that to get the latest date by the number.. for example first number 3 might be 8\9\89 aand second might be 9\9\92 what what I am trying to do is of the duplicates all I needs is the latest date thanks

While this is slow, it will give you the result you want.

Add the date field to your query and change the Total value from 'Group By' to 'Max'. This will return you only the most recent record and the date of that record.
