"hiding" check boxes

hi there,

i am currently working on a form that allows the user to renter their username, which then brings up other details (their name for example), then to click on a confirmation button which then takes them to the bottom of the form where they select some check boxes....

now i have done the first bit but i cant for the life of me find out how to "hide" these check boxes and then unhide them when the command button is pressed to confirm

any help people???

if i want them hidden to start with do i make their properties = hidden then after the update do
