Crosspost that went unanswered on another forum, so I thought I would pick your all's brain a little bit.

Just wanting some input on the best way to go about designing my homescreen form. Right now I have it so that all my navigation buttons are on the left with multiple list boxes in the body of the form. Each list box represents different deadlines for when certain paperwork needs to be sent out/followed up on/hearing dates.

I like that I can set the listboxes up to doubleclick on a specific record and go to their corresponding form and how clean they look, but I also want to be able to have specific things be highlighted to bring more attention to them. For instance, if we have a hearing coming up, I want that to be highlighed in RED. I would also like more control over the highlight color in general.

Any thoughts? Is there a way I can have all the things or will I have to pick and choose? I've also made up the same form, but with datasheet subforms just to get a sense for how they looked, but they're more bulky than the list boxes. If there are other options, I'm open to trying to them out as well.

Thanks in advance.

you can do most things - to highlight red investigate using conditional formatting - tho this does not apply to indivividual rows in listbox controls, you would need to use a subform as a substitute. Not sure what you mean by more control over the highlight color.

By more control over the highlight color, I meant that you can't change the highlight color of a selected row on a listbox by itself. You have to change other things about the listbox to change the highlighted row color.

So far as I am aware, there is no option, other than perhaps window themes - but that will affect all applications.

Suggest use subforms instead a datasheet view looks much the same
