Hi. I was hoping for some advice regards creating Web Sites within IIS then adding a HOST CNAME record within DNS to allow internal users to enter a nice friendly url name in their web browser.
Here I go..........................
I hope to create multiple intranet sites.
If I create a Web Site in IIS should I place the files within wwwroot or create individual sub folders within intepub for my site? The server hosting IIS has IP 10.2.2.50. To test I created a simple site, added a HOST CNAME record in DNS : 'intranet' pointing to myserver.mydomain.local. I entered this url in a web browser, however the default Web Site directory within IIS was displayed, not 'intranet' default.aspx page?
I am sure the resolution is quite simple................I HOPE!!
Thanks,
Phil.
