How do I set up an A3 Landscape

Hi,

I am trying to create a report that will print as A3 landscape, but am having a number of issues.

In the page set-up I have set the page to A3 Landscape and my default printer option are the same.

1. Part of the report is a chart that should spread accross the whole width of the A3 report. However, although I can extend the chart area accross the whole report the actual chart part of the chart gets cut off at the width of A4 Landscape, and so I can not display all the data.

2. When I try and print it on this printer it prints A3. However if I try and change the printer it resets the report size to A4 portrait, even when the printer itself is set up for A3 colour. I need to be able to print this on multiple different printers and the database will have multiple users spread around the office and over two seperate sites.

How can I make the chart realise it is on an A3 report and how can I ensure that it will print A3 on any printer?

Regards
Robyn

Hi,

In the design mode of your report go into Page Setup, choose the page tab and under the Paper section you'll find "size" from the drop down box select A3(297 x 420,mm), Portrait is the default, so if you want Landscape, make sure you check that radial, click OK and bob's your uncle.

Hope this works for you

Hi,

I'd already done that, the size of the report itself was fine and anything else on it would print on the greater size by the data area of the chart was being cut off.

I found a post on line that said that this is probably the result of a bug with the wondows operating systems, that if the display is set to lower resolution than 1240x768 then it can only display so much of the data area of the chart and hence cuts off anything wider than a certain width which is approximately 28cm. (Note it does nto affect anything else in the chart such as the legend etc). I had my monitor set to that resolution, and was still getting issues, so I have now upped the resolution and can get a data area 30cm wide before it tried to cut anything off. This is just about okay but will be a pain for the users if they have to change their monitor resolution to use my database.

I will have to get someone to test it. Unfortunately I can't re-find the post I was looking at to get this information, but in absence of any conflicting view I am going to put this down to a windows bug
