I am trying to us an Ampersand in the name of a field label when I use an Ampersand it is replaced with an underscore. I am trying to get the field name to display "AT&T" please advise.

I have to agree with Plog. Why would you have a field name of AT&T? It does also strike me as potentially a non-normalized structure.

Naughty American Telecomms giant. They should change their name as it causes us problems in Access .... :D

Leaving aside the potential normalisation issues

AT&&T (note 2 ampersands) will display a single ampersand in a label's caption.

You cannot use it as a field name as has already been posted.

but as already mentioned, why do you need a column called AT&T

why not just phone, or telecoms -

but more importantly, because of this, it sounds like you have an incorrectly normalised database. Are you having a separate column (field) for each type of expense? If so, this is the wrong way to go about things.

Years ago I changed, inherited from legacy system, records like B&E and B&S. There is a good reason for not using ampersand, in html it is expressed as & because it is used to definite, amongst other things, QueryStrings eg:

http://www.trevorsutton.com/Originals_Groupings_Large.aspx?Grouping=09TSP&OL=2

One way to express foreign characters again uses ampersand - U with an umlat : ü

The same applies for hash # symbol as this applies to a Section eg:

So why should this be of any relevance. Only because Microsoft is slowing pushing Access towards the web. Like Rip van Winkle, one day, I will wake up and it will be there.
