I have a form on which various checkboxes are checked as a process runs - but the process is so fast, that aboiut 20 checkboxes are all checked at once. How can I add a delay? I have tried a FOR loop, but I didn't see any appreciable delay.

try using the onTimer and Time Interval which you can find under the events tab in the form properties.

why is it a problem if your system runs quickly?

Gemma: Not usually a problem if Access runs quickly, but I have automated a process that previously took many manual steps, and have a checkbox as each step is complete. However, all of the checkboxes 'check' at the same time, and that gives the impression that nothing happened. There is no drama in it! So I would like the users to see the checkboxes go click, click, click, etc. Not a big deal, but if I could slow the thing down a few seconds, it would be more impressive.

Here's an API from Dev Ashish that's make Access sleep. but I agree with gemma! The "drama" should be in a previously slow, manual process that is now done in the blink of an eye, thanks to good programming!

Thanks for the assist, Allan! Too many irons in the fire to concentrate! :D
