I have a small access program. It has no modules and only 2 forms. The database has 1 detail table and several smaller tables that hold info for combo boxes such as city names, customer types ect… The Database will accumulate about 30,000 new entrees each year.
Each entry will be relatively small as there are no pictures or graphics. It will only have 1 user at anyone time and will only be installed on one PC other then the server. The users will be frequently looking back on recent records. (the last month or so)

This program MUST be setup on a net work for backup reasons.
What is the best way to do this? I tried the “Splitter” on my home network and it runs extremely slow, especially when it is first started. Is this just my cheesy home network or am I going about this wrong?

Thanks.

You must split the db if more that one user is going to be using it. The front end must be installed on their computer and link it to the backend [tables] on the server.

I would hope that your work network server is faster than your home setup.
