Hello,

How do I export report or table to word document with check box so people can check them and send to me back. I can change my records.

For example

Delete ITEM
5540 (Chick box goes here, they can tick)

(It seems I can't attache the document. )

Many Thanks,
Helen

Umm, you don't, exporting the Report to Word loses all formatting and changes your check box. It might work to crate a Word document and do a Mail Merge.

Gina,

Yes, no matter table or report, when I export them, I will lose the check box or option button etc.
Thanks for help anyway.

Regards,
Helen

Sorry, I don't know of another way to retain the check boxes

Wait, let's clarify something.

If you want to export something that someone can check and send back to you, we need to understand your intent.

If you meant, PRINT it and have them send back a printed copy, then you can just create a report with an alternate character set to have a box, OR you can just make any old text box with visible borders.

If you meant, E-MAIL it and DIGITALLY check it and send back the SOFT copy, that gets a lot harder. WAY lots harder.

In essence, for a document to be "smart enough" to remember a check, you need it to have some kind of macro or VBA code underneath it in its native handler. Like, if it was in Excel, you would need EXCEL-based macros and VBA. If it was Word, you would need WORD-based macros and VBA. Then you would have to understand how to read the document back into your system, which involves a lot of automation (a.k.a. Active-X and COM-automation).

Clarify your intent. Are we talking check-boxes on hard copy or check-boxes on soft copy?
