How to find a file name from windows directory

Hello.
Excuse me for my English.
I have a VERY serious problem.
I need to look for filenames (of pictures) and relate them to corresponded data - for every plant should be 1 picture. I know how to add pictures, but I don't know how to find the correct file from windows directory - and sometimes it's not exactly the same name. My knowledge is quite basic, but I once was a programmer.
