How to Remove Nav Pane in Access 2007

Hi,
I know how to remove the Navigation Pain (or Pane) so that it doesn't show on start up, but if you then want it (F11) how do you then get rid of it!!

It's driving me mad!!!

All you seem to be able to do is open and close the "shutter bar" and not remove it completely.

Any suggestions?

Hit F11 again to hide it.

That just closes the "shutter bar" and doesn't remove it. It's just that when it's closed it's covering one of my icons!

Ribbon > Access Options > Current Database > Show Pane

Have a look at all of the choices in this options window. This is a big change from the other versions. There's quite a bit of stuff that is hidden in there, so browse it thoroughly....I did!!

Can you post a screenshot of what remains when you click F11 again? I've used it and it goes away completely for me so I'd like to understand what you are talking about.

It's basically the bar on the left, I think it's in all 2007 Office applications, it's a bar about 1cm wide on screen with "Navigation Pane" written on it.

I know what you're talking about Matt, the "1-inch" bar on the side that shows as a minimized nav. pane. I'm not sure how to get rid of it once you need it again to open objects. But I do now that your option changes that are made take effect when you reopen the file.

You can "attach" files here with a post or you can paste screenshots. To print your screen, push the button on the "function key" row on your keyboard that says "prt sc" or something like it. On my keyboard, its an function key, so I have to push "FN" + key. Most keyboards don't work like that (as far as I know).

I usually use the paint program to paste the shot.

I know you're kidding, but that still might get you burned. My opinion is, don't aggrevate people who spend their entire working lives solving problems, because there is rarely a moment when they are not frustrated with people (and people using machines for that matter).

Okay, I see what you mean about the nav bar. So, I think we should all send Microsoft some feedback as to being able to remove that when we have the Navigation bar checkbox unchecked in the options. If that checkbox is unchecked, hitting F11 will still display it for you, but it should go away completely when hitting F11 again (but it currently doesn't).

I think, as Pat Hartman has suggested, anything like this we should make sure to send feedback on as it does affect the use of the program.
