Hello Everyone,

problem:
We have a report that gets generated in Access but its about 4700 pages. And it takes about a couple of hours to print.

We would like to setup a schedule printing job that will run the report and print it out based on a schedule.

Can these be done and if so how?

Thanks,

Leo

4700 pages? Maybe you could save the report as a PDF file and only print a hard copy as needed. Pdf files are eaiser to email anyway..

I print to pdf a number of different reports. I am using Access2007 and I learned this trick from page 308 of "Access 2007 The Missing Manual" I bought as a PDF file from Amazon.com

To export a report as a PDF file, you need the “Save As PDF or XPS” add-in. To
get it, surf to
www.microsoft.com/downloads, and search for “PDF”. The links will
lead you to a page where you can download the add-in and install it with just a
couple clicks.

Good luck.

If I download the add-in will it be included in the runtime if I create a distributable application?

This is a good question. I don't know for sure. I think so, if you make a distribution copy form the db the add-in added to. I split my data base and put it on a server. I checked the two remote front ends and the print to pdf feature isn't availible. I copied my office fe to my notebook and it works fine.

Happy, healthy New Year

John.
