A scanner is just like a keyboard - just an input device, and Access doesn't know what hit it.

The scanner is normally programmable to send some character at the end of the scan, which normally is just a set of letters and digits, corresponding to yuo pressing Return on the keyboard. Look in the scanner's manual. And make code as if you were keying the barcode on the keyboard. Same same.

I have this on my system.

On the key down event of the text box, I check for the enter key been pressed (Chr13) I think off the top of my head, if this is found do code, else do nothing. Works a charm.
