Hi there
I have found that the Northwind DB is a GREAT tool for learning how to develop an app in access. Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out how the NW DB should be used in Office 2010.

EG - How does a user order stock?
The "Purchase Order Details" form is used to order stock. (Order CREATED BY)
but then it seems that the order must be "SUBMITTED BY" someone....
and then it must be "APPROVED BY" someone.

Then (presumably) the new stock should be recieved?

The question is HOW/WHERE?

But this sample db does not seem to be intuitive (from and end-users point of view) - at least to me.

Is there a "user manual" for this sample DB.
If I understand the workflow (as an end user), it should be relatively simple to work out how the objects clip together.

Thanks

G'd morning!
Sorry to disapoint you, but absolutely no. Almost all MS Access Templates and demos are the worst place to start learning.
About the manual... well, i think you're on your own. There used to be an online manual for Northwind 2k created by MS, but was removed long time ago.
But the good part is that you don't need to waste your time with that db, here you'll find many working demos. Give a try to the "Code Repository" area you'll find working examples of real world applications.
G'd luck
Estuardo

I have not found any info on how to use Northwind Traders database. When "googling" I found articles that said

- it was not complete
http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/northwind-traders-database-t3452843.html

-there used to be a guide that came with it from M$oft but no more

-some sites give general info
http://books.google.ca/books?id=_yt...elines for Northwind Traders database&f=false

an older version that references Northwind (may give you some ideas)
http://pdfreedownload.com/doc/bdata...erforming-queries-using-microsoft-406629.html

I haven't found anything, but if anyone does find more info specific to Northwind Traders, I think they should post any relevant links for others who may have a need.
