hyperlink / or equivalent

I don't think this can be done, but....

Is there a way of setting a hyperlink to open the correct report / or record from an email or document?

I have a db in which the purchasing dept. send an email out when a PR is approved. The user then has to go to the db, login, go through at least 2 switchboards then enter the pr to print <typically to fax to a customer> I was thinking that if the purchasing dept. could include a hyperlink to the correct PR number in the email that this could save so time....


any ideas would be appreciated

Outlook might have the ability to work with Access through Automation. I have never had the need so I can not point you in the right direction but if you search and use Automation as a part of your keywords you might find another thread with the info you seek. Also try googling it for I doubt you are the first to ask that question.

This may get you enough information to get to where you can do what you want to do.

Open a rpt using a desktop shortcut
