Hiya,

Frist Post, with a really simple question for you guys, and an Iron hard thing to accomplish for me. I'm begining with Access now after been a VB programer for a bit. I notice things aint the same here. But here is the question.

How can i make my txtdate (textbox) display todays Date?

I have tried in the default value property "=date()" and also "=today()" but nothing shows...

Please Lendme a hand on this

Thanx

If you can't just put =Date() into the textbox's DefaultValue property in the design view then you may have a missing reference.

Open a module and go to Tools -> References and see if any are missing. It should read in huge letters: MISSING.

Mile & Pat

I have tried both suggestions with no suscess.

Mile, i went to the Visual Basic portion of Access and went to tools & refrences like you said. but it only displays a list of refrences.

Pat.

the "me.ordate = Date() " on the before_update is not working it only returns ( blah = null ).

Can'telive how dificult this has been for me:-(

Galan,

I currently have textboxes which default to the date the form is open by putting =now() as the default in the textboxes properties. I then set the format to short date. Not sure if this fits the same scenario but thougt I would throw it in all the same.

tried that also but I its not showing.

in the properties window under format I added Short date
& under Data onthe Default value I have =now()

---------=-----------=------------------=----------------=
Also Control Source is ordate cell on the sales table. I am begging to fill that is the cause of this silly situation. Do I have to tell VBaccess to where to save this date on the table by selecting the control source or somewhere else?

Have you changed any of the properties on the form?

you would tell Access where to save the data by the control source. This may sound like a silly question but is anything showing up on your form?

Kedden,

I have remove the control Source and its displaying the Date like normal, but if I add the control source nothing shows, I belive its becuase thier is currently no orders on the table itself.

SILLY ME! THANX!!!!!
