I have 2 tables - one for the names and data of patients and the other for satisfaction surveys they have completed. At the end of the form that contains all of the patient's data, is a check box indicating that they have completed the survey. If they have, I'd like a way for the user to have a button next to the check box to click on that would take them to the results of the patient's satisfaction survey. I thought a hyperlink was the answer but apparently not based on someone else's post below.
:confused::confused:

Is the survey outside of Access (PDF, Word, etc)? If so, FollowHyperlink is one way to open those files. If the survey is a report compiled from data in Access, then you'd want to open that report.

No, the survey results are in a table in the same access project. The primary key is the same as it is in the patient data table (patient's identification number is the primary key). The patient takes the survey on paper and then someone else enters it into access through a form. I want a button in the patient's record to take the user to the patient's survey results which are in a linked table. Hope I'm being clear (about something I am so unclear about).

If not hyperlink than How

No, the survey is in Access in a table separate from the table of patient demographics. The patient takes the survey and it is then entered into access using a form and goes into a table of survey data which has the patient's identification number as the primary key, just like the table of patient demographics. I want the user to be able to access a specific patient's survey results from that patient's record. Hope I'm being clear (about something I'm so unclear about). :o

Typically the raw data (as viewed in a table) isn't a very good presentation. I would create a report that presented the data in a professional way, and open that report from the button. You can either restrict to the selected record in the report's source query or use a technique like this:

If you want them to be able to edit the survey, then do the same thing with a form instead of a report.

pbaldy, I understand what you are saying about creating a report. But I want the button in the patient's record to pull up their specific survey. Sorry I'm so dumb.

Did you look at the link? That's the technique I would use, with OpenReport instead of OpenForm.
