Ah, if you're talking natives, you can't beat the Irish for hospitality! They are truly the friendliest race on the planet (until they get over drunk, then they go all human )

I just returned from Washington DC.

It is an splendid place to visit (from an historical not a political point of view). The Metro is the only way to get from place to place as the traffic jams start at about 5 AM and continue til about 10 PM.
