I must have installed ms office incorrectly. The currency is in $signs and not £signs. How do I change this setting without reinstalling the whole program.

This sounds like your operating system is set up wrong, rather than being an Access problem.
Go to the start menu, then select settings and control panel followed by regional settings. Select the currency tab and change it to £'s.
I think it's the same on most of the operating systems, is on 98 and XP anyway.
