Good morning All,

I was woundering if anyone knows how to import a txt file into Access using macros. I am aware of the TransferText option in the macros but here is my problem.

I have a txt file (a SAM file is anyone knows it) and all the feilds are seperated by a "tab" not a comma ",".. This works perfectly for excell but Access seems to put all the data in one feild seperated with an "_" .

Example

a feild would contain:
Name_Access_Time_Last_Pass_etc_etc_etc_

Please help ?

Although I rty to import the below tsv records into access, there happens nothing particular as you pointed.
(BLANC denotes "TAB")
Name Age Address
Paul 23 1115 W Franklin
Bessy the Cow 5 Big Farm Way
Zeke 45 W Main St
[UnQuote]

I wonder if the relative file you specified is not standard TSV file.
For your solution,@I wish to recommend that you should try to import it into access through hand-operations using ImportWizard, which will select the right FieldSeparateType automatically.
That is, if your file is typical TSV, in the second screen of Wizard it will tick the suitable radio-button" TAB(T)" automatically and then show the Table Image in below partition of screen. If you success in it, you had better to check ImportDefinition, where you might select the wrong SeparateMark other than " TAB(T)" .

Best Regards
