A question came up today that i have not found an answer for as yet.
We use an access 2000 database at work, which is fairly old. The file size of the original is around 135,000 kb.
We have been having some problems with the database, so today I did 2 things:
1) I copied and pasted the original to use as a backup.
2) I created a blank database and imported all the files from the original.
To my surprise the database which had been impoerted ended up roughly 1/2 the size of the original whereas the copied file was exactly the same size as the original.
What exactly is missing in my imported version? Can I retire the old database and use the imported one? or should we stick with the original?
There are quite a few linked tables, but all appear to have been copied to the new one, so I am puzzled as to what wasn't copied.
Thanks in advance
