I have an excel spreadsheet with hundreds of part #’s that is generated for me showing the part number and specifications of packaging materials. I would like to incorporate this spreadsheet into a database I’m currently working on that already has these part numbers (individually list).

The only information I am really interested in from this spreadsheet is the notes column, but as you can see due to the way the spreadsheet is generated (no control over this) each line of the notes paragraph is in a new row!

My goal is to import this table and link it to another table so I can query the notes section and populate it to a textbox in an existing “specifications form”.

Any advice on how to do given the setup of the spreadsheet?

(See attached screenshot excel spreadsheet and how they are populated)

i would suggest you just tidy the data before importing into Access.

You can use formulas to build the broken description back up into one cell, eg =F1&F2&F3 then filter out the duplicate records.

Or if its going to be a repeated task, just create a template you can past the output into that will transform into a structure more suitable for access, would be much harder to process in Access directly.
