Importing Data from MS Works 3.0 (1 Viewer)

Hello, I am designing a db that keeps track of store room inventory. I am at the point of importing the data from the old program into Access 97. I have imported it several times, but I keeps getting blank fields in SOME records. Others come up just fine. I saved my Works 3.0 file as a text file, and also tried DB IV. Both gave me the same problem. Is there an easier way to do this, or do I need to manually go through all four thousand parts and correct each individually.
