Importing Excel to2013

Hi I'm a new user to Access, I’m trying to import additional data from Excel into an existing Access database. I’m using the Import Wizard for excel but receive the error message “There is no object in this control”
Where have I gone wrong?

Welcome to the forum, this sounds as though you are missing Library files or you might need to repair MS Office. Please read the following thread to see if it helps.

Thanks for the quick reply Trevor, I’m using windows 8 I followed the instructions of the link you provided, then restarted my PC, still with the same error.
I understand now that it is not an access problem but a Windows problem. I’ll keep trying.

Can I suggest that you look at setting up a macro in the Database to import the spreadsheet to see if this resolves the issue.

That sounds a little advanced for me Trevor. I'll have a look on You Tube for a guide. Do you have any links for such?

Yes try a re install.

Macro's in Access aren't that hard to create. Take a look here:
